Joshua Rozenman is an Israeli born Netherlands based artist. Graduate of the royal academy of arts in Amsterdam.

Rozenman primary medium is glass, which can be ascribed more accurately as anti-glass. Melted in a kiln, his sculptures are made from one solid chunk of glass with a cracked, robust look. The result is a raw and ominous aesthetic.

Rozenman use of glass is ambivalent- on the hand, it doesn't aim to be pretty, but rather showing the "dark side of what glass expresses– its roughness and evocative nature. Rozenman's sculptures are abstract figures that call to mind the ruins of a metal machine or a dinosaur fossil cast in amber, like artifacts which might have been buried 2,000 years ago, only to be resurrected in a stark futuristic world.

Yet, Rozenman sculpture is fragile, with tiny inch-long pieces that protrude at dangerous angles. It is this fragility, the question of whether a piece will last forever or land shattered on the floor that Rozenman finds interesting.
