Abel Pann (Fefferman), Painter. born in 1883, Latvia. In 1895 he moved to Vilna and worked as lithographer. In 1903 Went to Paris, exhibited in the Salons and became known as caricaturist. In 1912 Met Boris Shatz who invited him to teach at Bezalel. In 1914 He returned to Paris to settle his affairs, but was interrupted because of the outbreak of the first world war. in 1916 he painted the series The Road of Tears, drawings and lithographs of Russian pogroms. In 1917 he went to the U.S.A. where he was known as a Jewish artist. In 1920 he returned to Israel and resumed teaching again. In 1921 he imported a printing machine from Vienna and began printing illustrations of the Bible which he published in 1924. Died Jerusalem, 1963.
