Engel Gallery invites you to a new group exhibition featuring masterpieces by mythological artists group New Horizons.
Established during the 40’s and 50’s of the previous century under the leadership of Joseph Zaritsky, The group created under the banner of progress for the Israeli art world, to break into the international stage and to merge the aesthetic principals of Israeli art with those of contemporary European art. The group identified with the lyrical abstract style that developed in post-war France.
Among the group’s artists featured in the exhibition: Arie Aroch, Moshe Castel, Marcel Janco, Yehiel Krize, Zvi Meirovitch, Yochanan Simon, Avigdor Steimatsky, Yehezkel Streichman, Jacob Wexler, Joseph Zaritsky.
The exhibition will be on display at the same time as a dual exhibition by Joseph Zaritsky and photographer Avraham Chai at the Tel-Aviv Artist’s House. All of Zaritsky’s paintings that are exhibited are on loan from the Engel Gallery. View them now in the virtual exhibition – press here.
